Eligibility for B.Ed.
- The candidates with atleast 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s degree (Medical/Non-Medical/Commerce/Arts) and/or in the Master’s degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto (any candidate with 49.99% or less marks would not be elgible) and 45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped Categories(any candidate with 44.99% or less marks would not be eligible ) from a recognized University established by law in India are eligible for admission to the programme.(Para 3.2 of Appendix IV NCTE Notification No.F-51F1/2007-NCTE(N&S) dated 27.11.2007.
- The candidates who have appeared in BA/B.Sc/B.Com. final year or Master’s Degree examination and the result of the same has not yet been declared , can also apply for B.Ed entrance test. However, the admission will be made subject to the production of certificate of qualifying examination with required percentage of aggregate marks at BA/B.Sc.B.Com/Master’s Level examination as per the eligibility clause of the prospectus on the day of admission /counseling. In case, a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility conditions on the particular day of admission/counseling, he/she will have no right for admission to the B.Ed course.
- 85% seats are reserved for bonafied/Domicile candidates of Himachal Pradesh and 15% to the candidates of other states. One supernumerary seat for single girl child is reserved in the department of Education, H.P.university, Shimla.
There is no upper age limit for candidates applying to the regular B.Ed course of one year.(High Court orders in LPA No. 104 of 2012 decided on August 27th, 2012.)
